Top 5 Navigation and Maps Apps in Europe Q3 2021

In Q3 2021, the top navigation and maps apps in Europe showed varied performances across downloads, revenue, and active users. Data from Sensor Tower reveals key trends for Google Maps, Waze Navigation & Live Traffic, Yandex Maps & Navigator, Yandex Navi – navigation, maps, and Google Earth.

Google Maps experienced a dynamic quarter in terms of downloads and active users. Weekly downloads peaked at approximately 940K in early August before declining to around 707K by the end of September. Active users showed a slight decline from 73.8M at the end of June to 71.7M by the end of the quarter.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic saw its weekly downloads peak at around 512K in mid-August, with a general downward trend to about 377K by the end of September. Active users maintained a steady presence, starting at 17.5M and ending the quarter at approximately 18.2M.

Yandex Maps & Navigator showed notable revenue peaks, especially in early August with about $3.7K, and a noticeable increase in weekly downloads to around 333K in mid-August. Active users increased from 9.4M at the end of June to around 10.3M by the end of the quarter.

Yandex Navi – navigation, maps reported significant revenue spikes, peaking at approximately $4.4K in early August. Downloads remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 196K and 264K throughout the quarter. Active users saw a slight decline from 7.3M to around 6.6M.

Google Earth maintained steady download rates, averaging around 230K weekly downloads. Active users showed a gradual decrease from about 1.9M at the end of June to approximately 1.7M by the end of September.
